KIST VET - NEWSLETTER

Education and Training is the Bridge to Success
Welcome Message
Dear Friends of Vocational Education & Training,
I would like to welcome you to
the new edition of the KIST VET-Newsletter, and talk about :
Entrepreneurship Education a holistic approach to the Global Challenges
with the focus on personal Life Skills- Entrepreneurship in setting up my
own life
The theme of this newsletter is one which is very close to my heart. And the benefits
affect people from all walks of life!
My entire career has revolved around the education and training development field.
A focal point was to bridge the gap between education and training, business and the
labour market. And for me this is Entrepreneurship Education.
Over the last 20 years, we have seen drastic changes occurring in the workplace. Workplace ethics and the
working culture have changed completely. Nowadays, initiative, adaptability, teambuilding, networking, per-
sonal responsibility, autonomy, eagerness to take risks and flexibility are required skills. These skills are critical
for the economic and social success for individuals as well as in the work place.
The questions are
Are we really prepared for the global challenges of the future and the transformation of workplace-
culture in an educational setting (subjects, tools, methods and environment,
)?
Are todays youth sufficiently prepared for their future? Do they have the skills to succeed at LIFE?
Don´t you think the following attitudes would help you to master the challenges of your personal life
and the challenges of an unknown future?
o
Develop strong self-respect and the ability to let go of destructive limitations
o
Determination to see things completed - no matter how big a challenge is or how long it will
take, there has to be a solution that will respect the needs of everybody who is involved
o
The desire to create win-win situations
o
Develop self-explanatory visions and the ability to put them into motion
o
Please consider a few thoughts I had about Entrepreneurship Education. What is Entrepre-
neurship?
For most people, when they hear the word Entrepreneurship they immediately think of starting their own
business and an Entrepreneur is a business man. However, in this day and age, such a limited definition is
not sufficient. Entrepreneurship is actually a way in which individuals can prepare and market themselves for
their future, a great way to fulfil many of your personal and career goals. Regardless of your major, working
field, or lifestyle, you can be an entrepreneur with the right resources and mindset.
Having a degree does not guarantee a job in today´s market. You must find the best way to present your qualifi-
cations in a multidimensional manner. You must convey yourself as a complete and well-educated and equipped
package.
